In a recent ceremony in Charleston, Governor Joe Manchin awarded SAFE $48,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant funds. Dianne Hale, Administrative Assistant, was present to receive the award.
The Emergency Shelter Grant funds are used specifically for the operation and support services for the SAFE Transitional Housing facility. The transitional housing facility began providing services in January 1997. Since opening their doors, the facilityhas provided 88,786 shelter nights and 210,833 meals to domestic violence victims, homeless women and their children
SAFE has received ESG funds since opening and these funds have been instrumental to the operation of the facility.
